An EA E3 press conference would not be complete without a substantial amount of the presentation schedule devoted to EA Sports. Beyond the technical jargon, buzzword, and well-edited trailers, EA Sports' most noteworthy announcement was related to their continued support and expansion of fantasy team campaigns. For FIFA, NHL, and NBA Live, the deeper integration of Ultimate Team roster building means unsurprisingly improvements. That means more content and incentives tied to in-game currency.
With Madden as the centerpiece of the EA Sports portfolio, the company has announced Draft Champions. EA is looking to capture the ceremony, hype, and anticipation of the annual NFL Draft. This is where all the teams' management face off in a guessing games of drafting and stealing young and talented athletic prospects. Not to limit themselves with current year authenticity, Draft Champions will also let you add Hall of Famers to your teams. That means Johnny Manziel can face off against Randall Cunningham and countless other match-ups. And since this isn't tied to a real world season-long fantasy sports experience, you can experiment with new teams in brief sessions with the help of mini seasons.
Madden 16 will be out on multiple platforms on August 25, 2015.
