The Witcher 3 Tops UK Chart For Third Week in a Row

Bandai Namco-published open-word RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has taken the top spot on the UK sales chart for the third consecutive week, according to sales monitor Chart-Track.

Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto V, meanwhile, moved up one spot from last week to No.2. The game, which has been on the chart for a total of 90 weeks, has not been outside of the top five in the all formats chart since its release.

EA’s FIFA 15 moved up one spot to No.3, while Nintendo's Splatoon moved down two places to No.4.

The only other new entry in the top 40 is Stiens:Gate for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, which debuted at No.18.

Here's the full top ten for the week ending June 6:

  1. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
  2. Grand Theft Auto V
  3. FIFA 15
  4. Splatoon
  5. Battlefield Hardline
  6. Project Cars
  7. Farming Simulator
  8. Destiny
  9. Minecraft: Xbox Edition
  10. Call of Duty: Advance Warfare

In our The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt review we awarded the game 10/10.

"Where the Witcher 2 sputtered to a halt, The Witcher 3 is always in a crescendo, crafting battle scenarios that constantly one-up the last, until you reach the explosive finale and recover in the glow of the game's quiet denouement," said our reviewer.

"But while the grand clashes are captivating, it is the moments between conflicts, when you drink with the local clans and bask in a trobairitz's song, that are truly inspiring."
