While areas of New York City's Upper East Side have been infiltrated by yuccies over the past few years, the neighborhood is still one of the city's ritziest
So naturally, the new Apple Store opening there is suitably fancy.
The brick-and-mortar store, located at the corner of East 74th Street and Madison Avenue, will open to the public on Saturday at 9 a.m. ET. The building was the former home of the U.S. Mortgage & Trust Bank in the 1920s, and Apple designed the space to capture the elegant spirit of that age.
Apple will even use the original bank vault in the basement for a VIP showroom, which makes sense; it's not hard to imagine that's where the $17,000 Apple Watch Editions will sit. Read more...
